About the Southside Soccer League
Southside Soccer League is a Multi-Jurisdictional Club League within the Eastern Ontario District Soccer Association. The league runs from the end of May through to the end of August.
South Side Soccer League is a recreational league not a competitive league. We do not keep standings as a part of the philosophy of the "Just for fun and exercise" approach to the game. It is not “All about winning:”
South Side Soccer League was formed in 2000. South Side was originally formed to meet the needs of the member clubs in allowing them the right to engage in inter club play at various ages and both genders on an as required basis.
The original founding members clubs were Kemptville District Soccer Club, Merrickville Soccer Club, Smiths Falls and District Soccer Club and Osgoode-Rideau Soccer Association. Shortly after forming, the league was approached by Nepean Hotspurs Soccer Club and Ottawa Internationals Soccer Club to allow them to join the league for the inaugural season.
South Side has been running the league with between 65 and 100 teams each of the past 9 seasons.
South Side remains committed to provide for all area clubs if the need arises. We are looking forward to growth mainly in the outlying areas of North and South Dundas as well as Perth and Prescott areas.
